The Funk Festival in Virginia Beach returns for another year, the ultimate Africana beach party that will leave you dancing and singing along to the best of funk from decades gone by. This is the perfect opportunity to enjoy music from legends including James Brown, George Clinton and Sly. Whether you're a fan of jazz, R&B, soul or hip-hop, you'll find something to dance along to at this summer music celebration.

The event takes place on an outdoor stage on the beach at 24th Street. You'll find plenty of great food at the event venue and can even show off your skills in a dance contest. The fun starts on August 26 at 9:30 p.m. and continues through the weekend. Grab some beach towels and blankets to join hundreds of spectators for this annual event.

Be sure to head to the boardwalk and beach early to explore other Virginia Beach attractions and enjoy a good meal before the music festival. Mahi Mah's restaurant is just a few blocks away from the fun and excitement on 24th Street so you can look forward to a delicious seafood meal and great views of the water while you dine before the show. From crab cakes and sushi to the catch of the day, look forward to freshly prepared cuisine and great service at our oceanfront restaurant during festival weekend.
